How To Score the Elusive Walmart “Online” Price Match
While Walmart does a great job promoting themselves as always having the lowest prices, it’s simply not always the case. Enter the Walmart online price match policy. While their policy has changed in recent years, and they no longer do an in-store price match, it still provides an excellent way to save when shopping online. Here’s exactly how the online Walmart price match works.
Walmart No Longer Allows “Local Competitor” Price Match
The good ol’ days of walking into Walmart with a print ad from Target, Sears, Office Depot, or any other local brick & mortar store, and requesting a price match, are long gone. Walmart axed this policy back in May of 2016.
Nowadays, the only traditional Walmart price match that they allow is with online retailers that have a lower current price than Walmart’s price. See list below of all the 28 online stores that they’ll price match.

How Exactly Does Their Online Price Match Work?
If you find a lower price at one of the above listed websites, contact Walmart before you place your order and they’ll give you the lower price.
To make it happen, simply contact Walmart.com Customer Care or call them directly at 1 (800) 966-6546.
Walmart will then verify the item’s eligibility by reviewing the online retailer, their current price, and also make sure the item is in-stock at both Walmart.com and the competing website.
It should also be noted that you can only get one online price match per day, per item.
Be aware that Walmart.com has the final decision for matching any online price.
Items where a price-match is most common, and beneficial, include HDTV’s, laptop computers, gadgets, small kitchen appliances, and sporting goods.
Get Price Protection via Walmart.com
If you’re about buy something in-store and notice via your smartphone that Walmart.com has it priced LOWER you CAN get a price adjustment.
The product must be identical and in-stock on Walmart.com for this to work.
Simply tell an associate of the price when checking out and they’ll hook you up with a price match.
They limit you to one price match, per item, per day.
Exclusions: This online Walmart price match does NOT apply to Clearance, Special buy, Value of the Day or deep discounts like Thanksgiving, Black Friday, and Cyber Monday.
Periodically checking the price on Walmart.com to see if it dropped is a TOTAL no-brainer, especially on significant purchases.
To this end, be sure to keep your receipts. I recommend setting up an alert on your phone reminding you every couple weeks to check the price on the Walmart website.
When the price drops (and it will), follow the instructions noted above to quickly get some money back.
