Does Hobby Lobby Offer an Employee Discount?

Yes.

All Hobby Lobby employees get a 15% off employee discount on in-store purchases regardless of position or seniority.

The discount will work on sale and clearance items as well, along with any coupons that you stack for additional savings.

Do Part-Time Employees Get Health Benefits?

No.

Only full-time Hobby Lobby employees (over 35 hours/week) are eligible for health benefits.

You also need to work for at least 30 days to be eligible as a full-time worker.

What I Be Offered Dental Insurance?

Yes, if you’re full-time.

The same rules apply to dental coverage as medical.

Will Hobby Lobby Offer Tuition Assistance?

No.

Unlike the folks at Starbucks, Hobby Lobby does not offer to pay or reimburse you for your college tuition.

But I was told that some locations will offer discounts for employees to attend local junior colleges and universities.

Will I Get Any Paid Time Off (PTO)?

Yes.

Full-time employees accumulate 14 days of paid time off per year and it accumulates if you don’t use it all in a calendar year.

I was also told by my friend, who works at Hobby Lobby, that her store does not let folks take vacation days in November, December, or January.

Also, the number of vacation days that you get starts to increase after you’ve worked at Hobby Lobby for 5 years.

Part-time workers unfortunately do NOT get any paid vacation or time off.

Does Hobby Lobby Offer 401(k) Matching?

Yes.

Hobby Lobby does offer a 401(k) program which includes a company match.

Specifically, they’ll match 100% of the first 3% of your contribution and then a flat 50% matching after that.

In order to get the company match I was told that you need to work 1,000 hours as a part-time employee or 1 full year as a full-time employee.

But you certainly don’t have to wait that long to start contributing to your 401(k). For part-time workers you can start after 90 days and full timers can start after 30 days.

Does Hobby Lobby Hand Out a Christmas Bonus?

Yes.

Part time employees typically get a bonus at the end of November of $50 for the first year of employment.

The Christmas bonus then goes up by $50 each subsequent year.

So the 2nd year you’d get $100, 3rd year would be $150, and so on.

Can I Get Paid Maternity Leave?

Yes and no.

If you’re a part-time employee you’ll get 6-8 weeks maternity leave that is unpaid.

If you’re a salaried employee at Hobby Lobby, or a store manager, you WILL get paid maternity or adoption leave of 6 weeks.

Does Hobby Lobby Require a Drug Test Pre-Employment?

Yes.

I was told that warehouse employees have to do a swab drug test before they are officially hired.

Not sure about cashier and sales floor positions, let me know in the comments if you know.

Also, I was told that they reserve the right to drug test after an accident or injury that occurred while working at Hobby Lobby.

I Have a Medical Marijuana Card, Will That Be An Issue?

Yes.

My friend said she has an acquaintance who has a medical marijuana card and applied for a job at Hobby Lobby.

Apparently they were denied employment because of this.

This could vary by store, I’m not sure. Let me know if you know.

Will I Have to Take a Math Test During Interview Process?

Yes.

My friend had to take a basic math test right after her Hobby Lobby interview which she said was “pretty easy”.

The test was graded right on the spot by a co-manager and she passed it with flying colors.

Will Hobby Lobby Hire a Felon?

Yes.

BUT…the felony that you were convicted of CANNOT be within the last 7 years.

This internal policy goes for all positions at Hobby Lobby and is part of the background check that they perform on ALL applicants.

Yes.

The Sephora employee discount is for BOTH full and part-time employees.

Therefore, whether you’re on the hunt for a new full-time job, or looking for a part-time gig and already spending tons of money at Sephora, working at Sephora can be a great way to make money (and save money with their discount).

Any Items Exempt From the Discount?

No.

There doesn’t appear to be any items or brands that are exempt from the Sephora employee discount.

That being said, the discount changes depending on the brand you buy.

For instance, Sephora employees receive a 40% off discount on Sephora brands.

For all other brands, you will receive a 20% discount.

Can I Use the Items on Clearance and Sale Items?

Yes.

This is where their employee discount gets kinda awesome.

Your discount works in the Sale and Clearance aisle as well, both online and in-store.

Some employees claim to have saved thousands of dollars over the years.

Can I Get The Discount Online and In-Store?

Yes.

You definitely can use your Sephora employee discount both in-store and online.

To use your employee discount, you’ll first have to get your employee code to then claim the discount.

You can use the code at any stand-alone Sephora by showing your employee ID and code.

Or, apply the employee discount code when shopping online at Sephora.

Are My Family Members, Friends, or Spouse Eligible?

Yes, your family members, friends, and spouse are also eligible to use your Sephora employee discount.

However, family and friends are only allowed to use the discount once a year.

Will I Also Score Free SWAG From Time to Time?

Yes.

As you shop at Sephora, even as an employee, you can sign up and become a part of the Beauty Insider program.

In Sephora’s Beauty Insider Program, you can receive all sorts of savings from free standard shipping to discounts, and more.

Does the Discount Work at a Kohl’s Store with a Sephora Within?

Yes.

You absolutely CAN get a discount working at a Sephora within Kohl’s; however, the discount is different than at stand-alone Sephora stores.

The associate discount at a Sephora inside a Kohl’s is a flat 15% off.

So, while this is a drop from the 40% and 20% discount offerings at the stand-alone Sephora stores, you still get a discount.

Not to mention, this associate discount also applies to Kohl’s items too.

What is the Hilton Employee Discount?

The Hilton employee discount, known as the Hilton Team Member Travel Program, is a travel discount program that eligible Hilton team members can take advantage of.

Through this Hilton Team Member Travel Program, Hilton employees get to stay at various Hilton owned properties for $35 to $75 per night.

This is regardless of how much regular guests would normally pay at these Hilton hotel locations.

Below are the rates of the Hilton employee discount that employees can expect to pay:

– $35 per night: Hampton, Hilton Garden Inn, Homewood Suites, Home 2 Suites, and True by Hilton

– $45 per night: Hilton Hotels and Resorts, DoubleTree, Embassy Suites, and Tapestry

How Exactly Do Employees Use Their Discount?

Once hired and added to the Hilton system, just Log-In to Hilton’s Booking site with your Hilton Honors login credentials.

Then all you have to do is search for hotels by date and look for the special “Employee Rates”.

Is It For Part-Time and Full-Time Employees?

The Hilton employee discount, also known as the Go Hilton Travel Discount program is open for ALL Hilton employees to use.

So, every Hilton employee, whether they be a full-time, part-time, or seasonal employee can use the employee discount as long as they work a regular schedule/ consistent basis.

How Long Do I Have to Work at Hilton to Be Eligible?

There does NOT appear to be any specific length of time you have to working at Hilton to be eligible.

That being said, it seems eligible employees should have at least worked a consistent, routine schedule before making use of the employee discount.

Does the Employee Discount Work at ALL Hilton Properties?

Yes.

Employees can choose from several Hilton properties as noted above.

However, depending on the Hilton property you choose, it will determine the price you pay per night.

The dates you choose is also factored into the employee discount and be aware that some high demand dates may not be available.

Any Exclusions to Be Aware Of?

No.

There doesn’t seem to be any exclusions involved with the Hilton employee discount.

However, depending on when and how far in advance you book your stay, you may run into occupancy issues and may not be able to book or use your discount at a specific Hilton location during a certain period of time.

Therefore, be sure to book your stay in advance.

Can Family and Spouses Also Use It?

Yes.

According to Hilton’s website, authorized family and friends can also use the Hilton employee discount.

So, family and friends can use special rates of about 35%-50% off standard Hilton hotel rates.

Can I Earn Hilton Honor Points with Employee Discount?

Yes.

Whenever you book using your Hilton employee discount, you can still earn Hilton Honor points as long as you book through your Hilton Honors account.

Can I Get the Discount After I Stopped Working at Hilton?

Yes.

You can still use your Hilton employee discount even after you’ve stopped working at Hilton.

However, this DOES NOT work with all employees.

It only works for employees who have worked for 10+ years at Hilton.

Employees who have worked at Hilton for 10-20 years get to book at the friends and family rate for up to 70 nights per year for the rest of their life.

Employees who have worked at Hilton for over 20 years get to use the same benefits as current Hilton employee members.

This equates to 30 Hilton employee discount night rates per year and 70 nights at the friends and family nights per year.
